Prior archaeological fieldwork experience is preferable but not required. Undergraduate or graduate students are to apply for Session 1 of the program, minimum of three weeks between June 2nd and 29th, 2025, and/or Session 2, minimum of three weeks between June 30th and July 27th, 2025.
Applicants should be 18 years of age or older (age of legal majority), and they should send a cover letter, relevant résumé or curriculum vitae (including their age or date of birth), and one (1) letter of recommendation from an instructor or supervisor in a relevant field of study or research to Michael Lane, Associate Professor and field director, mflane@umbc.edu.

The field director’s home institution, the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), is unable to provide academic credit for participation to non-UMBC students. HOWEVER, applicants are strongly encouraged to seek academic credit for archaeological fieldwork school at their respective institutions. Prof. Lane will vouch for their performance to their instructor of record.

Students are to cover their own travel expenses. There is a flat 220-euro fee per week, covering room, board, and vehicle rent and fuel.
