On May 26, 2023, an educational seminar on ancient Greek painting was organized by our Department, at the initiative of teaching fellow Dr. Anastasios Kakamanoudis. The seminar was attended by 45 undergraduate & postgraduate students, who had the opportunity to examine representations of ancient paintings and to experiment themselves with the techniques of fresco, tempera and encaustic. In this way, the students were able to approach the work of ancient painters in a more direct and creative way and ascertain the particular requirements and aesthetic qualities of each technique.
