Excavations
The archaeological projects of the Department cover the full chronological spectrum, ranging from Greek prehistory to the historical era; they are inextricably bound with departmental research and teaching activities. Students specialising in Archaeology are trained in landscape methods through participation in the university excavations at Gavdos, Rhodaphnidia, Lesvos and the Internal Archipelago of the Ionian Sea, as well as in the survey in the island Dia in Crete.
